Katie’s Robot Ranks #11 Worldwide

Our daughter, Katie, of Hampshire, IL, and her 3 teammates are on a Fox Valley Robotics team, Cobalt Team 355E. The 4 girls have worked very hard this year and have competed in many area competitions. Katie is standing on the left and Gabby Garbaccio is on the right. The photo was taken at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, IL just before the Illinois State Competition.

Their robot is currently ranked 11th in the World. In April, the team will travel to Anaheim, CA for the World Competitions. They have won several awards throughout this year including Programming Skills, Design Awards, Finalist, Skills Challenge and the Excellence Award.

Here is the link of the teams in world standings. You can see Cobalt 355E is currently in eleventh place.

Recently, the Kane County Chronicle and the Daily Herald picked up stories on the team.

We are very proud of Katie and her team and just wanted to share this accomplishment with Seton. We feel that her homeschool studies have greatly increased her love of engineering and design.
