Maria Wins 1st Place in Art Contest

Maria, age 13, won first place in the Catholic Daughters of America Art Contest. The theme of this year’s contest was “Jesus loves us. . . How do we show that love to one another.”

Maria created an original watercolor depicting two friends sharing a basket of homegrown food.

Homeschooling’s emphasis on Catholic values and the independent work ethic it encourages fostered Maria’s creativity and her desire to spread the Gospel in this project.
