Matthew Achieves Brown Belt In Tae Kwon Do

What did you do:

In April 2015, I participated in a Tae Kwon Do tournament in El Paso, TX. I competed as a brown belt and won 1st place in sparring.

What organization/entity recognized the achievement?

The tournament was sponsored by Black Belt Tae Kwon Do Academy and held at Chapin High School Gym.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

I started Tae Kwon Do in 2013, when I was 8 years old. I enjoy learning martial arts. With perseverance and dedication, I earned my brown belt and am now hoping to continue until I receive my black belt. Homeschooling helped me in all this by teaching me discipline.

What are your interests?

I like creating crafts from paper and cardboard, folding paper airplanes and origami. I also enjoy ice skating and roller skating and playing hockey. I like being outdoors.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I hope to be a scientist, particularly an astronomer. I want to use my creativity to invent something very useful to mankind.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

My favorite subject is Science. It is very interesting to me to learn about things in the world.
