I have committed to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Belmont Abbey College, Belmont, North Carolina. It has always been a dream of mine to play a sport in college. Eventually, I found my way to lacrosse in the seventh grade and fell in love with the sport.
In Pennsylvania, homeschool students are allowed to play with their local school district’s athletic teams. Though I am homeschooled, I play for the Varsity Lacrosse Team for Hershey High School, Hershey, PA. In five years, I was able to accomplish my dream and commit to play lacrosse in college and receive a sports scholarship to a great Catholic college.
What organization recognized the achievement?
Belmont Abbey College Mens Lacrosse Coach offered the athletic scholarship for me to play and attend Belmont Abbey. I chose Belmont Abbey because it is a great Catholic College with a very competitive lacrosse team. Belmont Abbey plays in the very competitive “Conference Carolina” that has produced the NCAA Division II Champions the last three years!
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal:
Homeschooling helped me achieve my goal in many ways. The most important way was the ability to be very flexible. Due to that flexibility, I was able to focus a lot of my time and energy on lacrosse while still receiving a great Catholic education.
This truly allowed me to work as hard as I wanted to without being held back by other obligations. I was able to put in extra time into lacrosse as I practiced on my own and with my siblings, all while being a busy student.
What are your interests?
Well, I obviously love to play lacrosse but besides that, I like to read/write, workout, and hang with friends.
What are you inspired to do with your life?
Most importantly I am inspired to keep my faith strong. As for the future of my life, I think would like to own my own business, dealing with something in the field of physics. To be quite honest, I’m not sure what God exactly wants me to do in my life but I’m up for the ride.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
My favorite subjects are Physics and English. Physics is one of my favorite subjects because physics is not only all around us, in a sense, it is part of us. It is the physical, fundamental fabric of our universe. English is also one of my favorites because I like to read and write.
