Jennifer Receives Prestigious Thomas Merton Award

Jennifer, a Seton Home Study Graduate of 2011, received the Thomas Merton Award and Scholarship during her senior year at Mount St. Mary’s University (Emmitsburg, MD). This is the highest honor awarded to a selected Mount student.

The Thomas Merton Award is given to one graduating senior out of the entire class, who best represents the Four Pillars of Mount St. Mary’s University: Faith, Discovery, Leadership and Community. The Mount announced the receipient of this award at the Opening Mass and Convocation in August of 2014. In addition, the Thomas Merton Award and Scholarship was a full-tuition, year-long scholarship.

Graduating with cum laude, a degree in Accounting with minors in both Business and Theology and member of the DI Women’s Tennis Team, Jennifer was also nominated for the 2015 Student-Athlete award by her peers and was awarded the Mount Athletics’ Excellence in Leadership Award, for her dedication to Mount Athletics.

After graduation, Jennifer plans on working for Kearney and Company, an accounting firm based in Alexandria, VA.
