Marianne-Rose Wins Young Artist Piano Competition

Marianne-Rose Wins Young Artist Piano Competition

Marianne-Rose (6 years old) was the first prize winner of her category at the 2019 Frost Young Artist International Piano Competition.

Her parents are both professional pianists and assist in her training.

She played in her first student recital at three years old and has participated in the National Federation of Music Clubs annually since that time with an unbroken ‘Superior’ ranking.

What organization recognized the achievement?

The University of Miami

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling gave Marianne-Rose the flexible practice time she needed to be prepared. Her schedule allowed time for ‘dry run’ performances in community events leading up to the competition.

What are your interests?

Marianne-Rose enjoys art, painting, puzzles and creative play with her little sister Faith (who also plays the piano). Both she and her sister have begun to study the violin in addition to the piano. Marianne-Rose especially loves the music of Bach.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

“I want to be a Saint” – Marianne-Rose Scott

What are your favorite subjects and why?

Religion: “Because it teaches us about the Ten Commandments and Jesus.” & Math: “Because it is like a puzzle.” & Art: “Because it is creative.”
