UD Provost’s Scholarship Awarded to Isabella

What did you do?

I was accepted to the University of Dallas as an incoming freshman and awarded the Provost’s Scholarship, one of the University’s top scholarships.

What organization recognized the achievement?

The University of Dallas recognized my achievement.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me achieve my goal by allowing me to have time to fulfill my duty in 4-H, such as being the Blanchard 4-H Secretary for the 2019-2020 year, as well as having time off to participate in a weeklong achievement conference.

Homeschooling also allows me to have time to attend high school youth meetings at my parish. Despite my demanding extracurriculars, my hard work studying has rewarded me with a 3.9 GPA!

What are your interests?

Some of my interests include painting and drawing (which helped me earn a scholarship from UD), hanging out with my friends from both 4-H and church, taking pictures, adding pictures to my photo albums, reading, and watching movies.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

After I graduate college, I am inspired to become an elementary school teacher.

What are your favorite subjects, and why?

My favorite subject is English because it helped me learn to write well and because the assignments are a fun challenge to complete. Furthermore, I like English since it means that I have found some of my favorite classic books, including Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice.

This photo was taken in my backyard for a Senior recognition event for 4-H.
