Working Hard Gets Sarah Her Junior Black Belt

Working Hard Gets Sarah Her Junior Black Belt

What did you do?

I started martial arts 4 years ago with my siblings. Martial arts is important to me because it helped me learn to use team-work and to communicate.

In martial arts I learned self-defense, self-control, self-discipline, to work hard, and to never quit. I kept working hard and got into the higher belt ranks, and now I’m a Junior Black Belt.

What organization recognized the achievement?

The Academy for the Martial Arts in Schertz, Texas.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me achieve my goal because I do not have to wake up as early in the morning as other kids so I can take more martial arts classes in the evenings. It also helped me because it gives me a flexible schedule so I can practice more often.

What are your interests?

My interests include martial arts, American Heritage Girls, art, and reading.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I want to help people reach their goals in martial arts, and I want to someday test for my Adult Black Belt. I also want to be a great saint for our Catholic Church!

What are your favorite subjects and why?

My favorite subjects are history and science. I like history because it is fun to learn about where people traveled and how they survived and science because I like learning about God’s creations.
