Joanna and Catherine Win Pro-Life Oratory Contest
What did you do?
Joanna and Catherine participated in the Greater Chattanooga Right to Life Pro-Life Oratory Contest. Catherine won second place, and Joanna won first place. They first learned about it online.
Since our family has always been staunchly pro-life, they decided to join. Then, they spent the next few weeks writing, rewriting, and rewriting again. The contest took place on the Monday after Easter.
What organization recognized the achievement?
The Greater Chattanooga Chapter of Right to Life recognized their achievement.
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?
They had extra time to work on their speeches thanks to Seton. In addition, Seton’s
Religion courses helped them to provide moral arguments to combat abortion in their speeches.
What are your interests?
Catherine loves to read, write, participate in Mock Trial and Civil Air Patrol, sing, and play soccer.
Joanna loves to read, play organ and piano, listen to music, play soccer, and sing.
What are you inspired to do with your life?
Catherine would like to become a canon lawyer.
Joanna would like to become a doctor.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
Catherine’s favorite subjects are Seton’s high school Religion and English courses. She loves these because she likes to learn more about God, the Catholic Church, and our Faith. She also loves writing poems, essays, stories, and reports. Hence, she loves Seton’s high school English courses.
Joanna’s favorite subjects are Biology, Chemistry, and Theology.
