Norah Inspired to Create Her Pumpkin Derby Car
What did you do?
Norah built a pumpkin derby car using recycled wheels from her grandmother’s garden wagon and axles from her grandfather’s scrap collection.
What organization recognized the achievement?
She was honored with a certificate by the Conejo Valley Homeschool Co-Op.
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?
Norah was inspired to compete in the derby after learning about simple machines in Seton’s first-grade science curriculum.
What are your interests?
She enjoys deconstructing and repurposing her toys, building houses and grocery stores out of Amazon boxes, and designing angel figurines that stand on their own.
What are you inspired to do with your life?
Norah would like to design homes that are well-suited to family life.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
Norah enjoys Map Skills and History because she’s inspired by the sailing ships that brought early settlers to America.
