Mark Wins 4-H Blue Ribbon at NJ State Presentation

What did you do?

I took two blue ribbons at Hunterdon County and New Jersey 4-H Public Presentation contests for my presentation on the P-51 Mustang, a World War Two fighter plane.

The first ribbon was for the local county level and then the second for the statewide presentation competition.

What organization recognized the achievement?

Hunterdon County 4-H and New Jersey 4-H organizations recognized my achievement.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me to achieve my goal by providing me with an in-depth education of essay/presentation composition.

What are your interests?

I love to build scale models of WWII and present day fighter aircrafts, as well as automobile models. As an orange belt in my karate class, I was appointed the youngest Teacher’s Assistant in the program.

Just recently, I joined the Civil Air Patrol, the USAF Auxiliary. I have also served as an altar server in my parish for ten years. I am proud to share that at my last Camp Veritas retreat, I was able to assist in serving Mass with Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

In the photo: That’s me with Cardinal Timothy Dolan at Camp Veritas 2018 at Mount St. Mary’s College in Newburgh NY.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

Besides being married to a wonderful Catholic woman, I hope to follow in the footsteps of my Grandfathers, who served in our armed forces, and Great-Uncle, who died for his country at Okinawa in 1945. I may eventually join the Air Force when I grow up, but all of this I leave in God’s Hands.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

I honestly cannot pinpoint just one subject, however, I do love American History. I love American History because there have been so many men and women in our country who displayed many moments of courage and perseverance in the face of hard times.

Math is also in the forefront due to the fact that my survival could depend on my Math skills if I become part of the Air Force!
