Karenna Wins 2nd Place in Ohio Student Essay Contest

I recently placed 2nd in a student essay contest. I used the Seton format to write my essay and footnote it. The contest was held to raise awareness of Ohio’s part in the War of 1812.

The second place prize came with $1,500. There were two age brackets. I was in the 7-9 grade bracket, which received 251 submissions total. My essay was read by 6 college level professors and Ph.D students in order to win. The award ceremony took place in the Ohio Statehouse Rotunda on April 4.
