What did you do?

Our diocese held a contest to design a patch for priests and religious should they ever colonize the moon. I won first place in the Fifth-grade division for my design across the entire Buffalo Diocese.

What organization recognized the achievement?

The Vocation Office of the Buffalo Diocese and the Mary, Mother of Vocations Ministry, recognized me and others who submitted works.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me win this contest by giving me the time I needed to complete this project. Also, this year’s art history lessons helped me choose certain elements to include in my work.

What are your interests?

I enjoy having time for my art and am also interested in missionary work.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

The Jesuits have always inspired me and how they do important missionary work of bringing Christ to countless souls globally, but my main focus is on India, where my pastor, Father George, came from.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

My favorite subjects are Latin and Art.
