John Wins While Witnessing the Sanctity of Life
John medaled in long-distance running in public 5Ks with a first-place finish and two second-place finishes overall across all age groups. He was also the team leader for his cross-country team, helping them get several second-place finishes in middle school meets in North Carolina. John did this while witnessing the sanctity of life as part of the state homeschool chapter of LIFE Runners.
What organization recognized the achievement?
LIFE Runners organization (Triangle Youth School Chapter),
RunSignUp is an organization that provides official results for public 5ks,
MileSplit NC which provides official results for school and club meets, and
NCHEAC, the athletic commission for NC that our team is a part of.
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goals?
Homeschool allows John to have a flexible schedule, run often in the mornings, train with his state’s student chapter, and compete against a variety of private schools, homeschools, some public schools, and running clubs across the state.
What are your interests?
Running, fishing, baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, and swimming.
What are you inspired to do with your life?
He’s not sure yet, but likes the idea of having his own business.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
Science. John likes learning about different animals, sea life, and nature.
