Maria Camilla Crowned Miss Lagonglong Diamond 2024

What did you do?

On June 30, 2024, I was crowned Miss Lagonglong Diamond 2024. I was up against nine other candidates trying to claim the title. My victory not only secured the Miss Lagonglong crown but also made me the representative of the Municipality of Lagonglong in the District competition, “Miss Kuyamis” scheduled for January 2025. Additionally, I earned the title of “June 2024 Queen of the Month” from The Pageant Awards Philippines.

Along with these honors, I was recognized with several prestigious awards, including Best in Panel Interview, Best in Production Number, Miss Congeniality, The Land Transportation Office Choice Award, Miss Islas Filipinas Ambassador, and several other brand awards.

What organization recognized the achievement?

It was recognized by both the local government of The Municipality of Lagonglong, which celebrated its 75th anniversary, and The Pageant Awards Philippines, a well-renowned pageant organization.

My win also attracted the interest of modeling agencies and fashion designers.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

No matter how long and exhausting the rehearsals were, I consistently made it a priority to complete all my schoolwork. Balancing rigorous rehearsals with academic responsibilities taught me the importance of discipline and time management.

Homeschooling played a significant role in shaping my work ethic, instilling in me a sense of self-motivation and commitment. This experience has inspired me to apply the same dedication and effort to everything I undertake, whether academic pursuit, personal goals, or professional aspirations.

What are your interests?

I’ve always been interested in Marine Biology, Photography, Driving, and Baking, but thanks to the pageant, my interests now include modeling. My passion for marine life is something I really want to highlight in my next pageant advocacy.

The Miss Kuyamis stage is going to be huge, and I plan to speak up about current and recurring issues regarding our marine environment, especially since the Philippines is an archipelago. Photography has been my stress reliever for as long as I can remember; I love capturing God’s beautiful creations. The rest of my interests are quite new and bound to change, but for now, they have already brought so much joy into my life.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I don’t know where life will take me. After all, life is full of unexpected surprises. At the end of the day, I choose to believe that He has a plan for me greater than I could ever imagine.

That’s what inspires me to keep going: the idea that one day, God will show me exactly why I was put on this earth and what my calling is.
