A Flexible Schedule Lets Julio Help Qatar Community

What did you do?

I joined a desert beach clean-up drive at the Singing Sand Dunes of Qatar to keep the local beaches and sand dunes free from waste and garbage. Volunteers picked up trash in the desert sand dunes, and we gathered 300 kilograms of garbage at the end of that day.

What organization recognized the achievement?

This achievement was recognized and made possible by the Doha Environmental Actions Projects Community in collaboration with local volunteer groups such as the expatriates working and their families living in Qatar.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me achieve my goal of protecting the environment by allowing me a flexible class schedule so that I can join worthwhile activities like the clean-up drive.

What are your interests?

My interests include cleaning up, saving the environment, and drawing robots and cartoons.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I am inspired to become an engineer someday, like my dad.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

My favorite subjects are science, phonics, English, and history.
