Gabriella Cast as Clara in the Nutcracker Ballet

What did you do?

I have been dancing since I’m 6 years old and in August I auditioned for our county’s annual Nutcracker Ballet production. I was so excited to find out that I was cast as this year’s Clara.

The Volusia Civic Ballet

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me achieve my goal by keeping me in the best possible environment, my home, where I have gained the confidence to become myself and finally be who God wants me to be.

With homeschooling, my family has so much more flexibility. We can schedule our school day in a way that creates a healthy balance of work time, family time, and dance training time.

What are your interests?

I love ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater…I love to dance with my sister, watch Hallmark movies with my Mom and Grandma, and play golf with my dad and brother.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I want to make it to the New York City Ballet someday and become a positive role model for all young dancers. I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to dance and feel accepted.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

My favorite subjects are social studies and science. Social studies because I love learning about the history of our great country and science because I like learning about the world around me.
