Jesse is 10, Tests for 2nd Degree Black Belt

What did you do?

I tested for my second-degree black belt. I am under 16, so I am still considered a “Poom”, which is why my belt is half red and half black, but it transfers to a “Dan” when I turn of age. I was the youngest in my school to get my black belt at 9 years of age and I remain the youngest to test for 2nd degree at 10.

What organization recognized the achievement?

I tested for my second degree at my Taekwondo school, KuGar TaeKwonDo.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

I am involved in Sport TaeKwonDo which includes significant training and competing. I often train and travel for competitions. Homeschooling helps me by making shifts in my schedule according to heavy tournament time versus downtime. Right now, I am currently training for Nationals in August 2021.

What are your interests?

I enjoy TaeKwonDo, playing board games, reading, spending time with my family, and learning.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I am still unsure. I like the idea of opening a TaeKwonDo school like my father but I also want to attend college and explore the possibility of doing something else.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

I love Math and Science. I always love Religion as well. I enjoy problem-solving, learning about my animals, and exploring my faith.
