Joey Sends “Thank You” Christmas Cards to Heroes
Joseph (Joey) Johnson, 11, of Waunakee, Wisconsin, was determined to bring JOY and HOPE at Christmas time to injured service people at the Veteran’s Hospital (William S. Middleton Memorial Hospital) in Madison, Wisconsin.
Since Jesus came to serve, Joey wanted to imitate Jesus with “thank-you Christmas cards”. Joey filled his Christmas cards with hand-cut snowflakes and sent them to the vets.
Maybe only 10 service people will receive these cards; but like Jesus our Savior, Joey desired to make this service-project fill a few true heroes of our beloved Country with a keen sense of his gratitude and Christmas JOY.
