Johanna Wins with Grace on International Ballet Stage

Johanna Wins with Grace on International Ballet Stage

In 2019, with lots of prayers and God’s grace and hard work and perseverance, I competed in a number of International Ballet competitions. I was humbled to be acknowledged for my God-given talents.

A Year to Remember

In April, I entered the World Ballet Arts Competition Regional, Manila, Philippines, and Summer Intensive Scholarship in St. Petersburg, Russia, and was awarded 5th place awardee in Classical Ballet.

Then in June, Bronze trophy awardee in both Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance and Summer Intensive Scholarship to the Taiwan Grand Prix IBC in Masterpiece International Ballet Competition, Singapore.

In July, Silver medal awardee in Classical Ballet in Star of Canaan IBC and requested to perform my Contemporary Dance” Never Enough” at the Closing Awards Night.

Finally, in November, Potential Awardee in Contemporary Dance in World Ballet Arts Competition Finals, Niagara Falls, Canada.

These competitions are important to me in fulfilling my dreams and aspirations of becoming a professional ballet dancer.

What organization recognized the achievement?

Masterpiece International Ballet Competition in Singapore, Taiwan Grand Prix IBC in Taiwan, Star of Canaan International Ballet Competition in Hong Kong, and World Ballet Arts Competition in Canada.

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

Homeschooling helped me achieve my goal by allowing me a flexible schedule to do my academics and training. I can juggle my time between training, rehearsals, and studying, and this gave me time to focus on my competitions.

What are your interests?

My interests are swimming, singing, dancing, playing the piano, and baking.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I want to be a professional ballet dancer. That is the career I want to have while I am young, but I also want to be able to finish college, so I have a fallback when my dancing days are over. Also, I want to share what I learned in dancing to young kids and dancers, and I now have my own story to share with them.

What are your favorite subjects, and why?

I love Math, English, Religion, Science subjects. I get excited about doing math problems, and I enjoy reading a lot. I come from a very religious family, and reading religious materials strengthens my faith. I’m also interested in science because, aside from wanting to be a professional dancer and a dance teacher, I dream of being a doctor.
