Noah Advanced Rapidly to Taekwondo Blackbelt
What did you do?
Noah became a blackbelt in Taekwondo after only three years. At his dojong, the average time to reach blackbelt is 4-5 years; however, his instructors were impressed with Noah’s diligence in mastering forms and skills required for each belt level, so they advanced him (skipped) one belt rank.
Then, they felt he was ready to test for the next belt rank only three months later. After only six months as an advanced red belt, Noah was told he’d be testing for his blackbelt, which he received on December 16th.
What organization recognized the achievement?
Maximum Martial Arts, on behalf of the Kukiwon Federation, awarded the blackbelt status.
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?
Homeschool has helped Noah to learn discipline and self-motivation. He uses these skills to plan out his day and use his time well, leaving adequate hours in the day to spend practicing taekwondo. Taekwondo reinforces our homeschool mentality of self-discipline and strength in pursuing difficult things.
What are your interests?
Noah is an altar server at our Traditional Latin Mass parish. He has played soccer since he was 6, plays the violin, loves to travel, and enjoys participating in our homeschool co-op at church and youth group.
What are you inspired to do with your life?
Noah is considering the FSSP seminary but is also interested in law and perhaps becoming a federal prosecutor.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
Noah loves history – he enjoys learning about past events (world, religion, country, etc) and also loves visiting historical places to envision what the events were like.
