Freya Got a Head Start on College
What did you do?
I was able to get a head start on college. I graduated from Snow College with an Associate’s degree before graduating from Seton. Currently, I am attending Utah State University, where I recently got a scholarship. Right now, I am only one semester away from getting my Bachelor’s degree at 19!
I’ve also been able to volunteer at the Family Support Center, working with young children, and perform with the Orchestra of Southern Utah. I was able to get a job at a local elementary school as a Speech Therapy assistant.
What organization recognized the achievement?
Snow College granted me my associate’s degree, and I am attending Utah State University.
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?
First, homeschooling gave me more time to take the college classes I needed to get my degree. However, Seton specifically helped me to prepare for college. The rigorous English Language Arts curriculum helped me excel in my college English classes, as well as write excellent papers for all my classes.
What are your interests?
I love to play music and work with children. I enjoy travelling and art.
What are you inspired to do with your life?
I plan to become a Speech Language Pathologist and work in an educational setting.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
My favorite subjects are literature, history, music, and art. These subjects specifically engage the imagination and let one travel beyond the boundaries of time and, occasionally, reality.
