Jenna, Ella, and Jane’s Literary Talents Win Trip to Hamilton

Jenna, Ella, and Jane won the Hamilton Creative Competition sponsored by the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts and Broadway Bound AK. They were provided an all-expense paid trip to Anchorage to watch the Broadway show Hamilton.

They were also given the opportunity to meet some cast members and talk to them about the show.

They submitted two written pieces. The first is a poem chronicling events in the life of Alexander Hamilton. The second was an essay regarding the life choices that led Aaron Burr to challenge Hamilton to a duel. We love the Broadway show Hamilton and love diving deep into that era of American History. Homeschooling has allowed us plenty of opportunities to explore topics that we find interesting.

To prepare for the show, they designed their own outfits that I sewed. Jenna loves Spanish and wants to work in the medical field someday. Ella enjoys French and History and wants to work in conservation, possibly with Fish and Wildlife. Jane likes Science and History and wants to be a wildfire firefighter.
