Spelling Bee Champion Zoe Going to Regionals

Spelling Bee Champion Zoe Going to Regionals

Since first grade, I’ve always loved Spelling and I was blessed to represent our class in the school Spelling Bee.

I did not win that year, but I challenged myself to work harder for next year. In second grade, I won the lower elementary spelling bee and was our school’s first 2nd grader to win! When our family decided to homeschool this year due to COVID, I joined the Cascade Parent Partnership Program Spelling Bee and by God’s grace, I will be moving on to the regionals!

What did you do?

I practiced spelling words with my parents and my tutor, Naia every day! I read lots of books and used the dictionary a lot whenever I find words that are new to me.

What organization recognized the achievement?

Cascade Parent Partnership Program

How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?

It enabled me to challenge myself to study more even though the words got harder to spell and because I am homeschooling, I have more flexibility in my study time to prepare me for the competition.

What are your interests?

I love singing and dancing, and I am part of the Seattle Girls Choir and Pacific Northwest Ballet.

What are you inspired to do with your life?

I would like to be a singer or a music teacher and share my God-given talent to touch people’s hearts. I love singing, my mom said that it is another form of prayer.

What are your favorite subjects and why?

Math, Spelling, Vocabulary, History, and Reading because I find those subjects the easiest and most interesting!
