Ruba Family Hosts Jesse & Anita Romero
From February 10-12, we hosted the speaker and his wife, Jesse and Anita Romero; Jesse is a nationally acclaimed Catholic Evangelist.
How did homeschooling help you achieve your goal?
Homeschooling allowed us to hear him speak in Des Moines at Christ Our Life Conference. From there we made the decision to invite him to our parish.
We held with a bake sale to raise money to bring him here. All of these things took time that we would not have if we were in a traditional school.
What are your interests?
Sarah’s interests are music and socializing.
Mary’s interests are art and photography.
Jacob’s interests are computer/video games.
Matthew’s interests are being outside on a ripstick or a bike
What are you inspired to do with your life?
Sarah, age 17, would like to be a nurse.
Mary, age 16, would like to do something with art.
Jacob, age 15, would like to be a mechanic or something with programming.
Matthew, age 13 would like to be a priest or higher.
What are your favorite subjects and why?
Sarah’s favorite subject is English because she likes words.
Mary’s favorite subject is History because it teaches about different cultures and how we got to where we are today.
Jacob’s favorite subject is history because it’s interesting.
Matthew’s favorite subject is math because it is to the point.
